Despite many media outlets being silenced, KSQD remains strong and local. KSQD/KSQT is a community radio station based in Santa Cruz and broadcasting to the Monterey Bay with a mix of local news and music, as well as programs like Democracy Now! and Thom Hartmann. Our mission is the create community through broadcasting, podcasting, and events that celebrate the unique culture and issues of the Monterey Bay area. We are run by a small staff and 150 volunteers who bring the art of radio to the region. When there are emergencies, the station broadcasts crucial information when many other sources are out. We train citizens in techniques of journalism, interviewing and podcasting and build a strong community through our many events and programs.
The Wheel Company is pleased to offer this show to the Santa Cruz community not only bringing some fine music to a local venue but being able to support and promote one of our great local radio stations.
